One Sunday afternoon in late May, a moment after the visit of a shower and about the hour people had had their lunches, there were ten and so players lingering in a small game center, which was less than 200 square meters, in Utopa Shopping Center in Guangzhou. It’s easy to notice that the game machine that took up the largest patch of ground floor was off power. Right at the middle door of the oblong-shaped shop, a small yet colorful game machine was surrounded by five people: two kids were waving drum sticks, and the other three adults were taking pictures.

The game, named as Drum Miumiu, is music game, developed by Guangzhou Joint Fun Technology. That game shop only got one Drum Miumiu and it’s very popular. This scenario is not an exception, nor is it accidental.

Drum Miumiu is a music game. Players can scan the QR code sticker on the machine to log in and record their scores. If the score reaches a certain threshold, it will be uploaded to the cloud servers and included in a rank list so that players can "show off" to their friends thereafter. After all, not letting people know when you've scored well is like going out late at night in fashionable clothes that no one can see; it makes no sense.

The advantages or features, such as being easy to play, a long list of songs that will be updated regularly, online rank lists, and zero maintenance, are the key reasons why this machine is so popular among players and game center owners as well. Although there are only three gamer classifications, it takes great efforts to brave into the top 200 on the advanced rank list because of the large player base and the emergence of a large number of professional drum gamers.

Since its debut three years ago, Drum Miumiu has shown strong growth momentum. At present, in mainland China, except for Tibet and Qinghai, Drum Miumiu has covered thirty provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, landing nearly 200 out of a total of 293 prefecture-level cities.
